CROSS COUNTRY SKI  TRAIL REPORT

April 5, 2002

High temps in 40s over the weekend with chances of rain or mixed precip on Sunday.

FINAL REPORT:

MOST AREA TRAILS, WHILE STILL MAINTAINING GOOD SNOW BASES HAVE CEASED GROOMING.  MANY STILL ALLOW SKIING, BUT YOU SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR WIDELY VARYING CONDITIONS.  DEPENDING ON THE HIGH TEMPS AND HOW THIS WEEKEND'S WARM UP AND PRECIPITATION AFFECTS CONDITIONS, YOU WILL STILL FIND MANY SKIING POSSIBILITIES OUT THERE.

ALL DAY CRUST SKIING HAS RECENTLY BEEN A GREAT BONUS OF THIS WACKY SEASON.  IN ADDITION, RECENT POWDER ON TOP OF THE CRUST HAS MADE FOR LIMITLESS BACKCOUNTRY CRUISING ON WAXLESS TOURING SKIS.  THIS HAS BEEN A BLAST!

THE CABLE AREA STILL HAS A FOOT OF SNOW IN THE WOODS, FOR EXAMPLE AND EVEN A FEW 40 DEGREE DAYS IS NOT GOING TO DIMINISH IT THAT QUICKLY.

THE ONLY TRAILS REPORTING ACTIVE GROOMING ARE:

BLUE HILLS IN RUSK COUNTY AND WOLVERINE TRAILS IN IRONWOOD.

IF YOU ARE SO INCLINED THERE WILL STILL BE A COUPLE MORE WEEKS OF SKIING SOMEWHERE. SEE WWW.NORWISKI.COM FOR UPDATES OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF WEEKS.

SEE YOU NEXT YEAR!
