Fellow skiers, Madnorskis, etc. I just found out today that our beloved meteorologist and skier, Scott Bachmeier suffered a terrible setback two weeks ago. He's still in the hospital in Milwaukee, recovering from an aneurysm.
His wife Ruth told me, "Scott had a massive aneurysm 2 weeks ago. He fainted at a Brewers Game, and then had his major episode in the emergency room. They didn't think he was going to pull through. After the aneurysm was fixed, then they were waiting because normally people will have a stroke, and with Scott's bleed, they were thinking he would have one. But, he didn't have a stroke, and now it will be the long road to recovery. It's been an amazing two weeks. He's still in the ICU at Froedtert in Milwaukee, but I'm hoping they will eventually transfer him to UW Madison, or send him home. He's really bummed out, because he was working so hard in the Russian style ski class this summer, but I keep telling him it's more important that he's alive."
