Some sad news to pass along for those of you who may have known Mike Black. Mike was
an opthalmologist in Janesville and an avid cross country skier, cyclist, and scuba
diver. He participated in Badger State Games and had come to Madison to participate
in some of the Bombay Bicycle Club rides and the Madison Nordic Ski Club Elver races
in the past. He has been missing and presumed drowned since November 18 when his SUV
and boat trailer were found abandoned at a marina in Milwaukee. The family will be
holding a memorial service this Saturday, January 18 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's
Evangelical Lutheran Church in Janesville. A luncheon will be served after the
memorial service at the church, 210 S. Ringold St., Janesville.
There is no information about memorial donations at this time, but if I have
information next week I will post it.
