I just looked at the long term forecast for the Madison area. Looks like we are going to have temps in the teens to low 20s now through the end of next week. So the fruits of our labor should last a while.
I agree -- it looks like the cold temperatures are here to stay for the remainder of the month (no evidence of any more "January thaw" potential).
Just think: if we plugged in a couple two-tree backyard blizzards http://www.backyardblizzard.com/ and let 'em run all weekend, we might have a lot of work to do on Monday at the Elver pond.
