It looks as if you have the right download.. What level of AIX are you running. Make sure you have plenty of space in /var and /usr Did you possibly run out of space? See the doc below for instructions and space needed.
https://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/xcat/index.php?title=Setting_Up_MySQL_as_the_xCAT_DB I assume you took the download and ran these commands: gunzip xcat-mysql-2*.gz tar -xvf xcat-mysql-2*.tar ./instmysql Then follow the use of mysqlsetup in the documentation. https://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/xcat/index.php?title=Setting_Up_MySQL_as_the_xCAT_DB#Configure_and_migrate_xCAT_to_MySQL_using_mysqlsetup_script. That is use mysqlsetup -i to set it up. YOu may need some the extension of ulimits needed which the script does for you. Lissa K. Total allocated memory InnoDB: by InnoDB 22063760 bytes. Operating system errno: 12 InnoDB: Check if you should increase the swap file or InnoDB: ulimits of your operating system. InnoDB: On FreeBSD check you have compiled the OS with InnoDB: a big enough maximum process size. InnoDB: Note that in most 32-bit computers the process InnoDB: memory space is limited to 2 GB or 4 GB. InnoDB: We keep retrying the allocation for 60 seconds... 120111 17:05:28 InnoDB: We now intentionally generate a seg fault so that InnoDB: on Linux we get a stack trace. 120111 17:05:28 - mysqld got signal 11 ; This could be because you hit a bug. It is also possible that this binary or one of the libraries it was linked against is corrupt, improperly built, or misconfigured. This error can also be caused by malfunctioning hardware. We will try our best to scrape up some info that will hopefully help diagnose the problem, but since we have already crashed, something is definitely wrong and this may fail. key_buffer_size=268435456 read_buffer_size=1048576 max_used_connections=0 max_threads=151 threads_connected=0 It is possible that mysqld could use up to key_buffer_size + (read_buffer_size + sort_buffer_size)*max_threads = 572918 K bytes of memory Hope that's ok; if not, decrease some variables in the equation. Is this normal? What should I do? # oslevel -s 6100-07-01-1141 I downloaded this from: http://xcat.sourceforge.net/#download AIX xCAT MySQL Is there another version I should be using? Thanks.
