I ran into a similar issue with xcatd not coming up and traced it back to
tftpd. The only way I was able to get xcatd and tftpd to come up was to
leave IPv6 enabled. I'm sure there's a way to get tftpd working w/o IPv6,
but I did not have time to explore it further.

Subject: [xcat-user] HELP : xCAT 2.7.3 on sles11sp2 on idataplex

Hello All,

I am unable to make xcat work on the following configuration;

Node: idataplex 360 M4
OS: SLES 11 SP2 (selected all the packages during installation)
xCAT version: 2.7.3
others: disabled firewall, apparmor, IPv6

My installation goes through, but after the installation when I test with
tabdump command I get the following error.

Unable to open socket connection to xcatd daemon on localhost:3001.
Verify that the xcatd daemon is running and that your SSL setup is correct.
Connection failure: IO::Socket::INET6: socket: Address family not supported
by protocol at /opt/xcat/lib/perl/xCAT/Client.pm line 187.

I tried with one virtual machine on my laptop, it works perfectly. Not sure
what is going wrong. Please let me know if any of you come across this
problem and were able to resolve.

Regards,
Richard
