copying template to service node moved the error along to # nodeset v11001 install v11001: install sles11.1-ppc64-test_drm Error: Failed to detect copycd configured install source at /install/sles11.1/ppc64 Error: Some nodes failed to set up install resources, aborting
thing is, that service node doesnt' have the source, because we only use it
for statelite, in a different network than the master node, and only for
x86_64, is there a cfg I'm missing to get ppc nodesets to not go there?

Looks like there is a service node in the cluster and the service node is
within the same network as node v11001, though the service node is not
assigned to v11001.
xcatd sends the nodeset request to all the service nodes in the cluster;
each service node handles the request if the node is within the same
subnet. Can you copy the .tmpl file to the service node and try again? The
first line of output suggests that nodeset is successful on the mn.

Although I have 4 xCAT clusters, and this is only impacting one (so far) I
went ahead and tried a differently named template:
cp -p EI.ppc64.sles11.tmpl test_drm.tmpl
chdef v11001 profile=test_drm
nodeset v11001 install
v11001: install sles11.1-ppc64-test_drm
Error: No AutoYaST template exists for test_drm in
directory /install/custom/install/sles or /opt/xcat/share/xcat/install/sles
Error: Some nodes failed to set up install resources, aborting
And when I preform the functions on my x86_64 vm's it is functioning
correctly:
# nodeset v10134 install
v10134: install sles11.1-x86_64-EI.kvm.sles11
# nodeset v10134 boot
v10134: boot
so, there's still 2 things going wrong, the template is giving an error
(and it doesn't in my other clusters with the original name, and didn't in
this cluster with original template name before upgrade to 2.7.5) and then
on new ppc lpars, I'm getting two lines of output for a nodeset action,
whereas my existing lpars only show one.
Here's output form a different cluster I have (v2):
# nodeset v20143 install
v20143: install sles11.1-ppc64-EI.ppc64.sles11
# nodeset v20143 boot
v20143: boot
All 4 clusters are running the same SLES11.1 OS and were upgraded at the
saem time to 2.7.5 xCAT.

It is not a good idea to name a profile like EI.ppc64.sles11 because the
code may interpret ppc64 as arch and sles11 as osver. I'd rather make it
something like El, and name the tmpl file as El.tmpl.

I should note that the double entry is is only impacting new nodes or nodes
changing from AIX to Linux, here's two clients in same cluster, one is an
existing node and then the one that's is having both issues:
Existing node

So I have the profile error showing on both new and existing nodes, new
nodes show in nodeset with two outputs, and one of the outputs seems to be
working on nodeset install (v11001 first line) then failing on finding
profile (v11001 second line and only v10143 line)

It's like the client is in multiple times, somewhere. Removing the client
doesn't resolve, it goes back to the same state as shown above...
