Gilad,

   The local disk support was only added in 2.8.

   Regarding how to use it, you only could specify one partition for
   localdisk like following:

      [localspace]
      dev=/dev/sda1
      fstype=ext3

   After that, you need to specify the files or
   directories /tmp/, /scratch/ in the litefile table. After booting,
   the /tmp/ and /scratch/ will be mounted to corresponding directories in
   on the specific partition.
      "ALL","/tmp/","localdisk",,
      "ALL","/scratch/","localdisk",,

Thanks
Best Regards

Subject: [xcat-user] localdisk option in Statelite

Hello all,

Has anyone used the local disk option with Statelite?

I'm probably missing something basic here (Is it supported on xCAT 2.7.6? )
because i'm getting the following message -

xcatmn:/var/soft/xcat/backup # chdef -t osimage -o
sles11.2-x86_64-statelite-test
partitionfile=/install/custom/netboot/sles/cfglocaldisk
Error: 'partitionfile' is not a valid attribute name for for an object type
of 'osimage'.
Error: Skipping to the next attribute.
Error: One or more errors occurred when attempting to create or modify xCAT

object definitions.

Also, in case i would like my local hdds to have three partitions, one for
swap, one for /tmp and one for /scratch, how do my litfile table should
looks like? how can i assign /tmp to /dev/sda2 and /scratch to /dev/sda3? i
did not find any explaination for that in the instructions. sorry again for
missing something basic :)

thx in advance!
