Hi,

I am trying to install a Test Cluster on VMware ESX machines with xCAT 2.8.1
using Scientific Linux 6.3 for management and client nodes. DHCP works fine
and when booting a client I am able to load genesis.kernel.x86_64 and
genesis.fs.x86_64.lzma via tftp. Next i see the following Error:

FATAL: Error inserting acpi_cpufreq
(/lib/modules/2.6.32-279.el6.x86_64/kernel/arch/x86/kernel/cpu/cpufreq/acpi-

…

I tried to change bootparameter to deactivate acpi, but with no effect (I
did: nodech node001 bootparams.addkcmdline=“acpi=off“)

Probably the error is correlated to using VMware, I can not activate
Enhanced Intel Speed Step on the virtual machines BIOS
