The acpi message I should suppress in a VM, it's harmless. The state ==
standby is causing some weirdness. Really, at this point, nodeset
<nodename> osimage=<SL6.3imagename> should get things ready go go. Booting
a VM to genesis is fun and all, but not much practical use....

Subject: [xcat-user] "Error inserting acpi_cpufreq" in xCAT 2.8.1

Hi,
I am trying to install a Test Cluster on VMware ESX machines with xCAT
2.8.1 using Scientific Linux 6.3 for management and client nodes. DHCP
works fine and when booting a client I am able to load
genesis.kernel.x86_64 and genesis.fs.x86_64.lzma via tftp. Next i see the
following Error:

FATAL: Error inserting acpi_cpufreq
(/lib/modules/2.6.32-279.el6.x86_64/kernel/arch/x86/kernel/cpu/cpufreq/acpi-cpufreq.ko):

/bin/doxcat/ line 143: standby: command not found
/bin/doxcat/ line 143: standby: command not found
/bin/doxcat/ line 143: standby: command not found
…

I tried to change bootparameter to deactivate acpi, but with no effect (I
did:    nodech node001 bootparams.addkcmdline=“acpi=off“)
Probably the error is correlated to using VMware, I can not activate
Enhanced Intel Speed Step on the virtual machines BIOS
