Hi - I'm new to xcat and looking at using it to manage a fairly large
infrastructure. I'm initially focused on the vmware integration, and after
playing around with it in dev, I have several questions and I'm wondering
if someone can point me in the right direction.

So far I've followed the documentation here
http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/xcat/index.php?title=XCAT_Virtualization_with_VMWare,
but I looking for more. For example:

Is there a direct communication path to vcenter? Hitting esxi directly
seems as though it will have its own limitations. For example, I can see
how managing a few hundred esxi hosts will quickly become difficult.

Is there a way to assign VMs to resource pools? I've been able to set
vmcluster, and that works, but I don't see an equivalent for things like
datacenters and resource pools.

Is there a way to clone a vm without using a template? Like for example, I
want to do the equivalent of selecting a VM in vcenter and choosing the
Clone option (I believe this goes back to the direct vcenter communication).

Anyway, I'm pretty excited to have found xcat and I'm hoping I can find
solutions to the problems listed above. If anyone can answer any of my
questions, or better yet, point me at some documentation that addresses
them, it would be greatly appreciated.

Also, is no one on irc? Is there a channel and I'm just not finding it?

Cheers,
Jestin
