This problem is resolved now, so updating of xcat directly from sourceforge should be working again now.
Sourceforge made a change to their software last week that has a problem if there are any sym links in the download file system. We had a few sym links called "stable" that i removed, which leads me to the next point... If you update your xcat mgmt node directly from the SF repo and you have "stable" in the url path in your repo file in /etc/yum.repos.d or in the zypper config, you will have to change "stable" to "2.8" and will have to update this value for each major release you want to move up to in the future. If you don't know what i'm talking about, then this doesn't apply to you, because xcat doesn't set up the repo files like this by default, so you would have had to explicitly do this. This is only affecting the snap builds, so installing the stable build directly from SF should work. If you want to update your mgmt node to the latest snap build, you can do that by downloading the tarball ( http://sourceforge.net/projects/xcat/files/yum/stable/core-rpms-snap.tar.bz2 or http://sourceforge.net/projects/xcat/files/yum/devel/core-rpms-snap.tar.bz2 ) and following the instructions in our cookbooks to run makelocalrepo.sh to point yum/zypper to it.
