I think overall we have an idea of what a post-sourceforge life will look like already, except for the online package repository.
Perhaps we should consider moving our package repositories to ppa/copr/opensuse build service? We'd still download an archive for offline package repositories, but the online update strategy would move to one or more of those services. ppa and copr have integration with Ubuntu and dnf for the respective platforms, so adding the repository might be easier and more consistent with other projects. Just a thought
