I have multiple questions about the capabilities of xCAT that I haven't been
able to find documentation for that I thought I would pose to the list. If this
would be better broken up in to multiple emails then please let me know and
I'll be more than happy to do so.

Let me explain my use case first as that might make these questions a little
more understandable. I work for a company that does a lot of integration of HPC
clusters. By that I mean we do rack & stack, cabling, firmware upgrades, IPMI
configuration, hardware testing (not performance just basic functionality), and
some burn in for some very large customers. Currently our environment is a
hacked together collection of DRBL, some Warewulf, and a whole lot of scripts.
I have embarked on a project to consolidate all of that under the xCAT banner.
I have personally deployed a number of clusters using xCAT in the field but the
requirements for this project are quite different.

That said I am looking for information on how to do the following thing. I have
extensively Googled and haven't found answers for these as of yet, even links
would be greatly appreciated!

Deploy diskless nodes over IB
- I saw this as a priority three on the 2.10 roadmap but haven't see much of
anything about it. If anyone has this working I don't mind doing the legwork. I
have managed to get somewhere on this but end up with an error: "dracut
warning: No root device "1" found" and haven't managed to get past that. This
is the most important piece to be honest.

Configure non-node entities via DHCP
- A good for instance would be setting up IPMI or switches via DHCP without
knowing the mac. We have quite a bit of volume and automatic setup of these
items would greatly speed up our process.

Mark L. Potter
