Hi,
I'm attempting to replace an existing node with new hardware. Machine type
is Lenovo x3650. I have removed the old node from the network, setup the
IMM ip-address, user and passwd.
At this point, rpower and pasu commands work, but the rinv command fails
with this error:
Error: ipmi plugin bug, pid 33988, process description: 'xCATd SSL: rinv to
qserv-master01 for root@localhost: ipmi instance' with error 'Can't use
string ("") as an ARRAY ref while "strict refs" in use at
/opt/xcat/lib/perl/xCAT_plugin/ipmi.pm line 3771.
' while trying to fulfill request for the following nodes: qserv-master01
The point of rinv is to get the MAC address of the first network interface
and add it to the mac table. To work around this, I entered the MAC address
manually in the mac table. At this point, I ran my rebuild script, which
runs nodeset, rsetboot, and rpower. I expect to the node to pxe boot and
install the OS, but instead the node pxe boots the xcat discovery
environment.
I'm confused at this point. I'm not sure if the error from rinv is related
to the boot issue, but I can't bring up the node. Any thoughts would be
helpful.
