Once you have built you image with genimage you can install OPA into the image
using the OPA ./INSTALL -r option to specify an alternate root directory.
(no chroot is needed).

Example:
Unpack you opa install .tgz file to a staging directory and cd into it.
./INSTALL -r /install/custom/netboot/compute/rootimage -R kernel-version

Where:
/install/custom/netboot/compute/rootimage is the location of your root image
for the compute image
-R kernel-version is what is displayed by "uname -r" in your root image - only
required if you are running a non-default kernel verison.

This is explained in the Intel Omni-Path Fabric Software Installation Guide in
section 4.1.1 though not obviously about disk-less it does mention it is for
network- boot images:
https://www.intel.com/content/dam/support/us/en/documents/network-and-i-o/fabric-products/Intel_OP_Fabric_Software_IG_H76467_v9_1.pdf

Hope that helps.

Regards,

David

disk-less image ?

Hi ,Pharthiphan

Here is my solution to do it
You should use a xcat node with OPA adapter installed to build the diskless
image
After the genera diskless image build done
You should chroot to the diskless image ,then install the OPA OFED (it should
be the *IFS* file )
Then pack your new diskless image
If you need more detail , I can provide a instruction later since I need to
update my diskless image soon ,give me some days to make the test environment
ready ,thanks

Hi All,

How to include Omni-path driver to the disk-less image ?

for Mellanox Infiniband there are documentation to add MOFED to disk-less but I
couldn't find any for Omni-path.
