Are other log files there, like /var/log/xcat/cluster.log
and /var/log/xcat/commands.log ?
What version of xCAT ?
Have you tried running "xcatprobe xcatmn" ? Perhaps some configuration is
off.

Subject: [EXTERNAL] [xcat-user] Missing /var/log/xcat/computes.log
I usually followed and troubleshoot deploys at /var/log/xcat/computes.log,
but I just installed a new machine and there is no such file.
Am I missing something? Was it removed?
I forward all the output to my postscripts to syslog with below command at
top of each postscript, but now I can't see anything,
exec 1> >(logger -s -t xCAT -p local4.info) 2>&1
