Hi Frank, hi Mark, > @Matthew, Winfried: the work around you described completely solved the issue > (bug) and the (your) xCAT instance is running smoothly on sles15.3? Many > thanks in advance.
No, I do not have the MN running smoothly on sle15sp3 - there are other issues, and while I have been able to work around several, I'm not there yet - it may be too much work. Currently I'm dealing with the autoyast file that xcat creates not working with the sle15sp3 installer. @Mark Gurevich, you write that sle15.2 is supported on x86 - can you clarify whether you mean for the MN or for CNs? Actually, could you say where the best place to look for OS support is? The release notes for xcat 2.16.2 (https://github.com/xcat2/xcat-core/wiki/XCAT_2.16.2_Release_Notes) say "Beta support for SLES 12.4, SLES 15.1 (ppc64le), SLES 15.2 (x86_64)", but doesn't specify whether the MN or CN is meant. And the Support Matrix (https://xcat-docs.readthedocs.io/en/latest/advanced/mixed_cluster/support_matrix.html) doesn't specify OS versions.
