Okay, it's mostly done! If you get the most recent version of
xcircuit (CVS available now, or try the distribution download tomorrow),
you can bring up the console window and type "svg <filename>" to get
an SVG-format file from the current page.
There are a number of loose ends which I will be cleaning up over the
next few days or weeks. It should be good right now for rendering
most schematics and drawings. I have tested it on a number of random
drawings. I have no idea about its status for importing into other
documents, but you can give it a try and report the results.
Note that due to limitations of the SVG format for representing
hierarchical data, the SVG output will necessarily be larger than
the original PostScript. However, most xcircuit files are not huge
and I don't expect it to be a problem.
