Hello Syed,
Can I right click on a file and open the file with xcircuit 3.8 tcl version in windows? I have xcircuit 3.6 and the xcircuit 3.8 tcl version and I don't know what to do in order to achieve this functionality in xcircuit. The previous xcircuit 3.4 windows version was able to open files by right clicking and then selecting 'open with xcircuit'. The new versions only open files which are in the 'bin' folder and it causes a lot of difficulty as I have to continuously move the files to the bin folder to edit them and later back to their original folders after editing them.
I will need to take a look at this (I have to get on one of my kids' computers, since I don't use Windows). It sounds like the 3.4 version must have used the Tk method for file reading (or maybe the 3.4 version for Windows wasn't Tcl based?), and the 3.8 version has used the original file selection method, which is more Linux-oriented. It should have ".." at the top of the file list, which would go up one directory, but this could be messed up by unfortunate interactions between the Windows filesystem and the routine that reads the contents of the folder. If so, I will need to fix it. Sorry it took a week for me to get back to you; I was on vacation. ---Tim +--------------------------------+-------------------------------------+ | R.
