I always prefer a browser download over the MAS. One nice thing about
downloading from the dev site and not using the MAS, is that I save the
installers into a folder called (of all things) "Xcode Installers" and I will
always have the installers handy just in case I am.…

- in a place with a terrible connection (hello Africa)
- in a place that blocks the MAS (my last contract)
- if I need an older installer that is not in the MAS
- if I am paying for my time on the Internet
- need an old, obscure or no longer available version of the installer

The MAS is mass market and serves that purpose well. IMO, it is a terrible
option for developers. If I spend the time to download several GB of whatever,
let me decide if I want to delete the package. HD space is cheap.

Same thing with all the WWDC videos. Every one is downloaded and recompressed
if possible, so I have the library of knowledge at my fingertips, or at my SSD,
as the case may be.

If it's important info, make sure to save it locally just in case you need it
and can't get to it easily.

Cheers.
