XCode just freezes or more just quits, seemingly at random, I don’t even have 
to be doing anything. Just open the project, do some editing and compiling, 
come back and XCode has frozen.

True, but then it wasn’t actually causing XCode to Crash. Clicking on the 
button to hide it while my app has hit a break point 9 times out of 10 will 
cause XCode to just Quit, that’s why, apart from them being a total bore after 
a while, it’s best not to use things like animations in Developer Tools.
