Makes sense since the cursor is managed by the WindowServer. Something’s 
clearly going wrong with the scaling. I wouldn’t think this had anything to do 
with whatever app/window happened to be active at the time, though. (And I just 
tried it with Xcode active and it worked fine.) Could it be that you have Xcode 
on a specific monitor, and it’s actually doing the gesture on that monitor that 
triggers the crash? In that case it might be related to video drivers or GPUs 
or something. (Especially the black screen — in my experience that’s what 
happens when a GPU crashes.)

In any event you should file a bug report, against the OS not Xcode. They’ll 
definitely want a system profile attached. Oh, also check the Console app for 
any relevant error messages or crash logs.
