I have to agree - I really don’t get the “assistant editor” concept. Pre-v4, I could split my windows up any way I wanted and load in whatever file was useful to me. Now I can only split the RH window (and then only with horz dividers) and if I want to swap the (files in the) left & right panes around, I have to faff around. And who thought it was a good idea to have the build output dumped in the window you were working in by default? (Yes, I’ve found a way around it now, but I shouldn’t have had to.) Of course, everyone has their preferences, but that was the beauty of v3:I could adapt it to suit the way I worked; with v4, I had to change the way I work to suit it.
