Alternately, you could try to install perceus 1.4.4, which has an xcpu
option built-in, and its provisioning model works quite well.  Then
all you need to do is checkout the latest version of sxcpu from the
sourceforge repository and build it.  I run a RHEL5.2 system, but with
kernel 2.6.26, and it works quite well.
