“At all times, if the final glide through terrain marker (a red cross)

is displayed on the screen, then the glider must climb in order to

safely reach the destination.”

 

 

More useful in mountainous terrain where your current path might pass through 
terrain that is too high, but the terrain beyond is reachable via another route.

I haven't found any documentation about the red X which looks as though it 
shows you the furthest point you can glide to on course.  Am I correct in 
assuming thats what it is?  Is there a way to turn it off?
