During a flight on last
saturday I was simulating a final glide, starting at about 1700 m AGL, to
my home field, about 25 kms away. Arrival height around 800
m. The 'red cross' was only a little distance in front of the
glider. Also XCsoar indicated something like 'final glide through
terrain'. Now this may happen in some countries, but it is a little bit
strange at the given heights above the Netherlands, being as flat as a
pancake. I'm using version 6.0.8 or thereabout on an IPAQ 4700, using the
same maps/topo as under version 5.4. Do I have to update the maps/topo? Or
what could be the reason for the strange indications (that did not worry
me too much, as you may understand :-) ).
