Hi, in my opinion relaying on a IAS/TAS signal to boost the ZigZag algo is the favorable way.
I never would pay attention for some seconds and head to some bearing or maintain any speed press any button. Avionics serves me not the other way round. In this case I would prefer observing the movements of the plants. That shows at least the instantaneous and local wind on the ground. The CAI302 ZickZack is good enough for everything else, it uses indeed the IAS/TAS info. But I am maybe ignorant ...
