Excellent idea. Start logic is always difficult. There are a lot of
ways this can get goofed up (operator error chief among them). I like
the idea of 1) being able to "use previous start" or "use next start" to
ensure XCS is using the pilot's intended start time for scoring and
stats, 2) "force start now" plus ability to adjust the start time
backward/forward in say 30 second increments -- this is a fallback for
when the start logic doesn't work correctly for any reason and at least
allows you to get an approximate start on the pda. I have had occasions
(recently, see tickets) where out-the-top failed and because I was over
altitude limit at the gate edgeI never got any sort of start, flew the
whole task with no stats, only my stop watch for time (AAT task).
