Have you selected an waypoint in the map region as the new home? Nav -> Waypoint List Select a waypoint on the next scree you see information on that waypoint Click on the right arrow, then on the "Set As New Home" button. You may have to restart XCSoar. It will come up with the map centered to this waypoint.
On your PC (in simulation mode) XCS doesn't have a GPS signal. So the map display centers just somewhere. Makes sense?
