Steve, your explanation is likely correct but I question your bug report:

1: not a bug. Read up on your maccready theory! Below final glide, stf is
independent of wind.

2: in simulation, dolphin stf looks strange because the sink rate of the
glider is zero (suggesting you are in lift equal to the glider's sink rate
according to its polar)

Traffic lights look OK in simulation, but check your safety height. The
range line may be well past the landable, but the colour won't change to
green until your calculated arrival is above safety height.

I discovered a bug while testing this on my PC, for which I'll raise a
ticket:

1. When flying with speed to fly 'Off', the best speed to fly shows the
correct speed for the polar at the given weight, but ignores the wind
strength and direction until the range line is past the target. It then
displays the correct speed to fly for the weight, wind speed and
direction.
2. When flying with speed to fly 'On' the numbers appear to be meaningless.

Hope this helps
Steve

Hello Peter,

I tested traffic lights in simulation mode in both Windows and Android
(Streak) versions and all worked as expected. I am assuming you have tested
in simulation or flight and that you are displaying a GPS height sufficient
to reach one or more landable waypoints. The fact that the alternates list
displays green landables but the map does not suggests something peculiar to
your Android device or your installation.

I would download a fresh copy of XCSoar and try it again. Also try it on
another platform and see if you get different results. If you still get the
same results put in a ticket.
