You can buy anti-glare material which stays attached electrostatically.  
For my 5-inch Galaxy, I bought a sheet for a 10-inch (or thereabouts) 
iPad.  From that I was able to cut 3 screen covers.  They also protect 
the screen from scratches and reduce glare considerably.  I still have 
to shade the screen with my hand when the sun is just at the wrong angle.
