By recycling XCSoar, all the parameters are restored except for those based on time, i.e., flight time, OLC score; those things which rely on elapsed time.

I just tried 6.3.2 and 6.4 (test) in the hangar, didn't fly today, and find that the Bluetooth link still drops when I attempt to change MC setting from the Galaxy. I was able to set MC Auto without losing the link, but I suspect that, if I'm in flight and the MC setting changes either automatically or by my input from the screen, the Bluetooth link will drop. I'll try this early in the flight so I don't lose too much information.

I am surprised to hear that XCsoar loses all this important flight information on a power recycle

Is this behaviour considered correct or could it be improved?

It's not too serious to have to reach to the panel to change MC
setting, but you also can't use the MC Auto function since it's
changed from the Android. Any attempt to change MC (at least on
my Galaxy) results in loss of the connection, hence TAS, flight
time, OLC score, ETE, ETA, etc., since I have to cycle XCSoar.

OK, did a quick scan of open tickets since release 6.3.1 was
introduced to see if there is any potential serious
issue/regression which may be of interest to all, and I found
only one which could be a regression, but from the lack of
discussion I assume it is probably not a serious issue, but here
    it is anyway:
    #2029 <http://xcsoar.org/trac/ticket/2029> Changing MC w/ CAI302
causes connection to be lost <http://xcsoar.org/trac/ticket/2029>

Other than that, I recall couple of reports of xcsoar crashes,
which may or may not be a result of regression.

So it sounds stable enough to me. I am going to give 6.3.2 a try.

Will you volunteer for doing that? Anybody can search the
        bug tracker
for new bug reports. It does not need a developer for this.

        (Agree with Sascha)

The XCSoar project has grown very large recently (more than
        12,000
pilots on Android alone!). Fortunately, we have quite a few
developers on the team, but I would like them to develop, and
        leave
non-development tasks to other volunteers: manage web site,
        coordinate
bug reports, communication with hardware vendors, user support,
translation, documentation, and so on - a never-ending list which
        requires a never-ending list of volunteers :-)
