Hello,

when connecting my CAI302 via a home-made IOIO-box to my STREAK, I can see
under Config 3/3 what data is transferred to XCSoar. This indication does
NOT say that wind is transferred.

Is there simply no more room to denote "wind" on the line (it is pretty
full) ?

Or is wind data really not transferred at all ?

The reason behind my question is :

I had a discussion with Turbo the other year saying that wind data visible
on SeeYou was very accurate whereas wind data on XCSoar was not, with
respective devices connected to CAI302. His remedy was : Have you configured
XCSoar to obtain wind data from the CAI ?

I made sure I had, but my wind data still seemed to be questionable. There
was always a large difference between circling wind and diving wind, most of
the time a factor 1.5 to 2 between the wind speeds, whereas direction did
not differ much. On SeeYou wind was much more stable between circling and
diving, also using wind data input from the CAI302. I have an itching that
XCSoar does not at all get wind data from the CAI, and calculates its own
wind instead.

Now back to initial question : Does anybody have an idea, how I can find out
what XCSoar actually does ?

Cheers Horst
