I should have remembered this as it did happen to me about a year ago as well.
XCSoar does not need to make up for windoze operators but the comment near the
link (or atleast in the manual where I went seeking information) sounds like
the quick fix and would have set me straight. It just seemed appropriate that
the download might be a .zip file, and my first failed attempt at
renaming(windoze hiding the extension) convinced me I was on the wrong track.
All happy now, 6.4 looks great. Unfortunately the southern hemisphere is not
conducive to too much test flying at the moment.

I thought this was already corrected, but if there is truly no way to fix
that, at least we should have a comment near the link clarifying to save it as
