One more thing to mention is that you shouldn't use the extension port.
That port is usually fixed to 4800 baud and only returns traffic
information, but no GPS data. It might be different for the OzFlarm
though...

I've ordered everything, so now I'm looking at wiring.

XCSoar talk to my OZFLARM unit to get GPS and the position of other
gliders. I think I have everything under control bar one thing: when wiring
between the serial port and the FLARM, do I need the RX and TX pins on the
serial cable to connect to the TX/RX pins on the FLARM, or the GPS Out pin?
Assuming I am using the extension port on the OZFLARM (ie it is powered
through the usual port), I'm assuming I don't need any other wires, except
perhaps a ground?

confused me somewhat... they seem to have pins 6&7 on the FLARM unit tx/rx
data? Perhaps they're FLARM is wired differently?

potentially wire into XCSoar as well. Can anyone see any reason why this
would be useful, or would it just be over complicating things?
