Thanks, this is what I was missing. I still had the driver set to 
"Generic" which was the preferred driver for Flarm in earlier versions 
of XCSoar.

Thanks to others who posted. For the record, the Flarm is detected 
correctly and I get traffic data, radar etc from Flarm (even with the 
Generic driver). Just the download functionality was missing.

My Flarm is an early Swiss made unit. It does not have an SD card 
reader. But with the current firmware it does generate "not secured" IGC 
log files which can be downloaded with a serial link to a PC running 
Flarmtool software.

The Flarm is installed behind the parcel shelf of my LS3 (where there is 
provision for mounting vario flasks) and I can't take it out easily. It 
is not convenient to take a Laptop to the glider to download log files. 
I have a separate secure logger and log files from XCSoar. So I only 
download Flarm IGC logs about once a year.

But now that XCSoar can download log files from the Flarm this might 
change ;-)
