I've volunteered to continue maintenance support of the upcoming 6.8
version on supported Windows CE platforms through 2015. This means that
most of Max's announcement still stands; the development of new features
for Windows CE devices ends after the release of 6.8 later this year.
However, I'll try to resolve reported issues with 6.8 on supported Windows
CE platforms until the end of 2015.
I'll try and assess the amount of work required to keep PPC2000 / PPC2003
as supported Windows CE platforms in 6.8, and see if it's feasible. At the
moment Max's announcement still stands (PPC2000 will be dropped in 6.8,
PPC2003 may be dropped).
Just to decode those terms, this means:
PPC2000: Pocket PC 2000 and Pocket PC 2002 devices: These are not planned
to be supported in 6.8. These are all early devices such as the early
COMPAQ iPAQs.
PPC2003: Pocket PC 2003 devices: These may not be supported in 6.8. These
are mostly devices manufactured before standalone sat nav devices with
built-in GPS (aka PNAs) were common. Many of the later devices can be
upgraded to WM5.
WM5: Windows Mobile 5, Windows Mobile 6, Windows CE 5, Windows CE 6
devices: These will be supported in 6.8 until end of 2015. This covers
almost all standalone sat nav devices with built-in GPS (PNAs).

guide to identifying which version your PDA is running.
