I have planned to let XGG read multiple DTDs in one go and generate one template to cover them all. It will insert conditionals around elements that are not common for all versions of the DTD.
-So EJB 1.1 should be easy to support. -1 for ditching EJB1.1. It would actually be a good exercise/test case for XGG to have support for 1.1.
