Body:
Stripping generics, no matter what the approach, is not a workable solution for our
needs. We make full use of most of the new 1.5 features, including enums, annotations,
for:loops, etc. Specifically, we have hibernate mappings for Enum classes. No amount
of generics stripping will solve that problem. Our project needs full java 1.5 parsing
support, or enough support to handle generics and enums and ignore anything else that
doesn't involve class declarations.
