Sorry, I've never been on a mailing list before where discussions about mail settings were encouraged by the owners.
Generally minor complaints and discussions about how somebody sends mail are resolved in private. That way the entire list doesn't have to read through something that doesn't concern them and the S/N ratio is improved. Now that I know the owners of this list feel differently, I'll change my behavior appropriately. -----Original Message----- From: Aslak Hellesy [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Friday, September 27, 2002 5:19 AM To: Slinkster Cc: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: RE: [Xdoclet-user] How to submit code changes I'm in a weird mood today, so I'm bouncing this back to the list for everyone to see. A lot more fun than ridiculing you in private, ha ha. I wouldn't have if you had thrown in a smiley or two ;-)) It's bad mail culture, I know. Don't do this at work. I guess you're just one of those guys who get annoyed if you're in a meeting and someone cracks a joke. You want to keep the discussion to the point, only to the technical level. How boring. You see, we, the XDoclet developers (and I hope, most of the other people here) are social creatures. There is no agenda on the mailing list. And if it were, previously un-heard-of lurkers like you are not in the best position to dictate what's appropriate and what not. Your comment is rude and demonstrates ungratefulness for the product we deliver to thousands for free. In what way was this mail thread more crappy than your mail to me? Beats me.
