This is a bit off-topic for XDoclet. Brett/Mike, maybe you could create 
a new issue in JIRA's JIRA where this discussion could be continued? 
(If there isn't one already). Anyway, my comments are below.

Definitely. -But then you should see the 3 other issue types too. 
Seeing only "Log a bug" would be inconsistent IMHO.

Isn't this just a matter of configuration of each project? I think it's 
possible to allow non-logged-in postings of new issues.

Either "Log a Bug" + "Log a Feature Request" + "Log a Task" + "Submit a 
patch" or change the current "New Issue" to "Log New Issue".
