You're going to hate hearing this but . . .
Assuming
you're using WSAD 5.1 w/ WAS 5.0, XDoclet won't be of much use. If
I'm
not mistaken (somebody please correct me), WebSphere Application Server
5.0
deployment descriptor requirements aren't yet implemented in XDoclet.
And it
doesn't appear that anybody is really anxious to do so.
That's not a
knock on any XDoclet committer, it's a reflection of the moving
target that
is WebSphere. For example, I don't think there's any way to
generate
any of the *.tblxmi files that WSAD generates in the 'backend'
folder.
Or any of the other *.*xmi files in that folder. And that's just
one
example. I'm not sure about all the other deployment
descriptors
either. I investigated this heavily in August and found I
was at a dead end
with XDoclet and WebSphere 5.0. With 5.0, you're
chained to WSAD.
I just finished 6 months of WSAD/WAS hassle this very
day so maybe my anger
and frustration level with WSAD/WAS is still a little
high. If there's
anybody else out there effectively using XDoclet with
WebSphere 5.0, I'd
like to hear about it
also.
Jeff
