Mick,

I experienced a similar problem when working across operating systems.
The problem was related to ANT build.xml and file separators.
The solution was tedious, but effective:
I placed this type of statement in the build.xml file
<echo message "build.deploy.dir = ${build.deploy.dir}" />

Runs fine on Linux for me (Mandrake, currently v9.2).  Was this using
the same source files & build script?
