If there is time on today's call, I would like to add an agenda item to discuss requirements collection for two Kconfig-defined subsets of Xen: - minimal Xen hypervisor optimized for hardware support, isolation/partitioning, secrets-free, safety certification, reduced attack surface and performant nesting of Xen and other hypervisors, including Hyper-V, KVM, ESX, Bromium uXen, bhyve - full-featured Xen hypervisor optimized for guest operating systems, unikernels, application-specific workloads and performant nesting on Xen and other hypervisors Related topics for discussion, possibly on a future call: - which hypervisor has priority for inter-VM communication policy enforcement - scheduler interactions across bare-metal Xen, nested hypervisor and guest OS Daniel Smith (Apertus) will introduce the topic.
