independent of an instance, then does some things with its components,

It also shows the problem I'm having with this bug

And together with the SimplePO.xsd supplied in 25579, it seems to point 
to another problem with
XSSimpleTypeDefinition::getLexicalPattern():

I was expecting to see "\d{3}-[A-Z]{2}" in the pattern for SKU but it 
came out to be "\{}-[-]{}"
Any hints on why that's happening? I may be using the wrong API.
