Actually, its a little more complex than that, but yes we know its an
issue. We have put off handling it because it will have to be dealt with in
the context of the support of socket based entity sources (HTTP and FTP
type URLs I mean.) We are going to have to rework all of this stuff, and
wanted to do it once in the context of this new architecture.
In fact I spent a few days over the holidays working on all these issues
and I think I'm ready to sit down with Rahul, who has been exploring LibWWW
as our first pluggable socket support implementation, and start getting
this ready for the 3.1.0 release hopefully.
