Hi all,
Xerces-J 1.4.3 is out. We can now proceed with the CVS swap of the
branches (I only saw positive votes). I'll take care of the CVS part of
it but we need to synchronize. You don't want to have local changes when
I make the switch or you'll have a hard time checking them in. This is
true whether you're working on X1 or X2. Someone also needs to update
the website ASAP after the switch occurs so that people find the right
information there. No, I'm not vonlunteering to do that part. :-)
Here is how this will happen:
Code freeze
Tagging of the trunc and the X2 branch
Creation of an X1 branch (tag: xerces_j_1)
Move of the X2 branch to the trunc
Everybody updates/checkouts and can resume coding
Update of the website/doc
I propose to do that tomorrow, Wednesday, at 2pm Pacific Time. I'll send
a mail when I start, and send another one when it's done. It shouldn't
take me more than a couple of hours but I'm not committing to this! I'll
keep you posted on how things go if it takes much longer.
Somebody has to volunteer to update the doc and website.
