Valid point. BTW: I tried zipping just the backlevel xerces.jar, versus zipping the current xerces2 jarfile... and the latter actually came out _smaller_ after compression. I doubt that's going to be a general rule... but it does suggest that using the old version for download-size reasons may be a false economy. Remember, you're talking about someone who's downloading about 5.5 megabytes of source; the difference in download time for another 50K really isn't all that significant, and storage space is cheap these days. Of course there is the question of whether the tools run with the new parser.
