I tried reproducing this problem on Windows NT and Windows 2000 systems, using
Sun JDK version "1.3.1_01" in each case. In every case the [Fatal error]
message was displayed. I tried all four instance documents included in the tar
file, and the command invocations exactly as shown above.

I'm not sure what to do with this - is anyone else able to reproduce the
problem on Windows?

I'm still getting no error on W2KSP2 or NT4SP6. I've also moved to java version
1.3.1_02 with no change in behavior. I'm running the 2.0.0 (beta4) Release.
Here is the (incorrect) valid output that I'm getting on the Windows side:

java -classpath xercesImpl.jar;xercesSamples.jar;xmlParserAPIs.jar sax.Counter
-n -np -v -s -f *.xml

msg_ACK.xml: 31144 ms (25 elems, 79 attrs, 105 spaces, 66 chars)
msg_ACKm.xml: 33949 ms (25 elems, 79 attrs, 105 spaces, 66 chars)
msg_ADT_A03.xml: 30003 ms (73 elems, 204 attrs, 365 spaces, 239 chars)
msg_ADT_A03m.xml: 29072 ms (73 elems, 204 attrs, 365 spaces, 239 chars)

I'm more than happy to try something on this end if anyone has any ideas, but
I'm simply unable to explain this.
